As Senior Vice President of K-12 for ProQuest, John Campbell oversees ProQuest’s K-12 Library, LearningPage, and ExploreLearning divisions. Campbell also serves on the Voyager/K-12 Executive Leadership team. Chief among his responsibilities has been growth through acquisitions, and Campbell has played a lead role in acquiring LearningPage (www.readinga-z.com), Axiom Press (www.culturegrams.com), Voyager Expanded Learning (www.voyagerlearning.com) and ExploreLearning (www.explorelearning.com).
Campbell officially joined ProQuest in January of 2004. Prior to ProQuest Campbell served as Chief Operating Officer and business unit head of a research based reading company (Breakthrough to Literacy) within one of the education industry leaders (McGraw-Hill). Before his role at Breakthrough/McGraw-Hill, he was Director of Technology for a division of a large media company (Tribune Education). Additionally he has experience as General Manager of a software start-up (Insight) and as Vice President of Applications and Technical Support for a hardware manufacturer (Commodore International, the maker of the VIC-20, C-64, and Amiga). Campbell has started a company from scratch and has been on both sides of the acquisition table.
Campbell earned dual bachelor degrees in Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and in Computer Science from the Moore School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Campbell has recently completed his term on the Education Board for Software Information Industry Association (SIIA).
